Rights, Rehabilitation, Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities (RRED)

Rights, Rehabilitation, Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities (RRED) project, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is a three years  ten months long project from March 2017 to December 2020.This project is being implemented in partnership with CRP and Christoffel -Blindenmission (CBM). The overall objective of this project is to reduce poverty and improve the livelihood and conditions of adults and children with disabilities.

The main project areas are Barisal, Chittagong, Dhaka, Pabna and Rajshahi. The target beneficiaries of this project are persons with disabilities and their family members, community workers and other people, community based volunteers, DPOs, service providing organizations, educational institutions, business community, NGOs and other Government organisations working in the health and rehabilitation sector. 

Major activities of the project include the medical treatment and therapeutic services, skill development training, livelihood support for business development, empowerment and advocacy training for DPOs and CBR volunteers, assisted devices provision, financial support to poor patients and awareness raising programs.The project is also working collaboratively with government medical college hospitals and JatiyoProtibondhiUnnayan Foundation (JPUF) in Barisal, Chittagong and Rajshahi.
