“Conference and Day long Workshop on Pressure Ulcer Prevention”

CRP organized a conference and a daylong workshop on “Pressure ulcer prevention” on 10th February, 2019 at its headquarter in Savar. The slogan for the workshop was “Together we can work to stop the pressure”.

A total of 110 nurses from different government and non-government medical colleges and hospitals across the country participated in the workshop. The programme was inaugurated by the honourable State Minister of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman, MP as the chief guest. The special guests were Professor Md. Taslim Uddin, Chairman, Dept of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Tandra Sikder, Director General, Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery. CRP’s Executive Director Md. Shafiq-ul Islam greeted the guests and the programme was chaired by Dr. Valerie A. Taylor, Founder, CRP.

Facilitators and speakers from home and abroad conducted the conference and workshop. Among them Jan Varney, Serious Incident Investigator, UK, Prof. Taslim Uddin, Chairman, PMR, BSMMU, Naheen Shah, Registered Dietician, UK, Prof. Md. Sharif Hasan, Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Sayeed U Helal, Neurosurgeon, Tarafder Sunil, Nursing Superintendent are mentionable.

There were presentations on several issues, practical interventions and group works for disseminating the knowledge on prevention and proper management of pressure ulcers. According to the participants, the workshop was very fruitful for them. They assured to share their knowledge with their coworkers in their working area so that they could implement their learning in their respective workplaces together.
