Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and motivated P&O Consultant to contribute to academic, clinical, and technical development at SPO, BHPI-CRP. The consultant will play a vital role in teaching, clinical supervision, research, and service delivery, ensuring high standards in prosthetic and orthotic education and patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures, practical sessions, and clinical demonstrations for undergraduate and diploma-level P&O students.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and training modules aligned with national and international standards (e.g., ISPO guidelines).
  • Facilitate problem-based learning (PBL), case-based discussions, and competency-based education.
  • Evaluate student performance through written exams, practical assessments, OSCEs, and assignments.
  • Provide academic mentoring, guidance, and feedback to students to support their professional development.
  • Participate in curriculum review, development, and accreditation processes.
  • Supervise students during clinical practice to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, ensuring evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Maintain proper clinical documentation, patient records, and follow-up systems.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and ethical standards in clinical settings.
  • Oversee prosthetic and orthotic fabrication processes in the workshop.
  • Ensure quality control in manufacturing, alignment, and finishing of devices.
  • Introduce and implement modern technologies such as CAD/CAM, 3D printing, and digital design systems.
  • Maintain workshop equipment and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  • Initiate and participate in research projects related to prosthetics and orthotics.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences.
  • Promote evidence-based practice within academic and clinical settings.
  • Collaborate with national and international institutions for research and academic exchange.
  • Organize and conduct workshops, seminars, and continuing professional development (CPD) programs.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the authority in line with institutional goals.
  • Contribute to innovation and service development within SPO and CRP

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Requirements

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics (BPO) from a recognized institution.
✔ Minimum 3–5 years of experience in teaching, clinical supervision, or training.
✔ Strong hands-on experience in prosthetic and orthotic assessment, design, fabrication, and fitting.

Preferred Qualifications

✔ Master’s degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics or related field.
✔ ISPO Category I certification or equivalent.
✔ Experience in academic curriculum development.
✔ Exposure to modern technologies (CAD/CAM, 3D printing, digital fabrication).
✔ Research experience and publication record.
