Appropriate paper based technology uses materials that cost nothing to make something useful. It makes a wide range of strong useful articles from various forms of paper waste. Though APT things can be made without spending any money except what is needed to buy varnish to finish articles. The most popular products created by APT include paper seating chairs, feeding chairs, hand therapeutic toys, balance boards, amongst others. Every year John and Janet had shared their idea and innovative thinking to improve APT production. In this reporting year John and Janet had provided appropriate paper technology training among the thirteen foreign MRS students for eight day long. APT procedures are extremely simple .Imagination and knowledge of the basic techniques convert used paper in to strong and altercative devices for persons with disabilities.APT has the potential to revolutionize the production of assistive devices traditionally fabricated from wood ,leather ,metal and other expensive media since in uses waste materials .All articles are designed to serve some useful purpose.
We would like to inform you that like every year we want to arrange APT Training with the help of two volunteers from our department (Special seating Unit) collaboration with BHPI in this November, 2018.Everyone know that Jhon and Jenet had given their effort to establish APT Department in the CRP. Both of them are our important facilitator to continue this training. They were connected with CRP through APT training from 2000.
Our international students of 2018/2019 batch of Master in Rehabilitation Science (MRS) participated of Appropriate Paper-based Technology (APT) training which was held on November, 20018(Dated-01/11/18, 4/10/18, 06/11/18, 08/11/18, 11/11/18, 13/11/18, 15/11/18, 18/11/18). We had selected our eleven participates from MRS students 2018/2019 batch. APT is a cost-effective way to produce personally designed furniture or other objects for use and creativity and over the years the availability, low cost and versatility of APT has benefited people with disabilities. Though they all were professionals in rehabilitation context, APT was a new concept for all of us. We believed that after learning this technology, waste papers can be utilized in effective way and that can be used effectively in rehabilitation of disabilities. Hence this concept is not well developed in rehabilitation setups in their countries, after participated to this training program they can start practicing their technology where they are already worked.
