Promote Rights and Inclusion of persons with Disabilities through community based rehabilitation (PRIDE)
PRIDE Project works to improve the quality of life of children (0-18y) with disabilities (CWD) and youth (18-25y) with [pride] disabilitiesYWD) in marginalized families of Savar and Tetoljhora union of Savar Upazila under Dhaka district of Bangladesh. The activities of this project run through community based rehabilitation to fulfill the elements (health, education, livelihood, social and empowerment) of CBR matrix.
The objectives of the project to include the CWD & YWD into the mainstream society by providing health care & inclusive education and to increase the participation of CWD & YWD in the socio-economic activities of their community through livelihood & social empowerment involvement. The activities of the project is to provide assistive device, medicine, community based therapy session, educational materials, learning materials, teaching materials, sports materials to conduct inclusive sports, involve the YWD in vocational training. This project arranged three mobile health camps in these two unions, where more than 250 CWD and YWD are received medical, therapeutic and rehabilitation related advice in free of cost. This project also works to establish pre schooling model in two government primary schools of under these two unions.
