Seminar on Rehabilitation Health Services and Assistive Technology in Bangladesh

CRP hosted a seminar on the importance of rehabilitation health services and assistive technology in Bangladesh with collaboration of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and in association with Bangladesh Health Professional Institute (BHPI), Bangladesh Physiotherapy Association (BPA), Bangladesh Occupational Therapy Association (BOTA), Society of Speech & Language Therapists (SSLT) and International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Bangladesh (ISPO-BD).

The seminar held on 14th October 2025, bringing together over 300 participants from the cross-section of health professionals, policymakers, academics, NGOs, donor agencies, and international partners. Its objectives were to highlight the urgent need for rehabilitation and assistive technology to improve health outcomes, reduce disability, and promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The seminar featured keynote presentations, sharing of international experiences, and a high-level panel discussion on strengthening rehabilitation and assistive technology in Bangladesh’s health system. The event also generated actionable recommendations to guide systematic assessment, national strategy development, awareness campaigns, and investments to scale up services across the country.
