Martial Arts Training for People with Disabilities

A 5-day-long Martial Arts training was conducted at CRP Savar for people with disabilities, which was jointly organised by CRP and the National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh (NPC). Professor Zibin Gao and Professor William Richard Johnson of the University of Tennessee, USA, were the mentors, and Dr. SangJin Yoon and DongChan Kim, Republic of Korea, Field Monitors for the Program. A total of 15 persons with disabilities and 10 sports organisers from different sports entities participated in the training, which is funded by the International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement under the auspices of UNESCO. This was a unique and first-ever martial arts training facilitated for people with disabilities.
